Funny Games: A Playful and Innovative Office Design

Creating a Clean and Engaging Workspace

In order to create a clean, concise space with affinity, designer Kaixin Lin applies traditional white wall and grey tile tones into the Funny Games office. The design matches warm wood colors with blurred divisions of funny combinations and traditional architecture scale, allowing viewers to experience the fun of a space game.

The Funny Games office stands out with its unique and playful design elements. One of the standout features is the central foyer, which features two white walls and a narrow staircase without a handrail in the middle. This design choice solves the problem of obstructing movement to the attic caused by roof beams. The staircase separates in the middle, creating a gateway-like effect that attracts visitors and viewers.

Another interesting aspect of the design is the use of dim lighting between the white walls and ceilings. This creates the illusion that the walls do not actually connect with each other, adding to the overall sense of playfulness and intrigue in the space.

The realization of the Funny Games office involved various techniques and materials. The entrance hall, for example, features grey antique bricks on the ground and exposed concrete on the ceiling. The ceiling was sanded to achieve a dustproof effect while also creating a special and delicate texture. Customized tea table feet made of fine steel blocks add a modern touch and create an illusion of suspension.

The office of the general manager posed a challenge due to its small width. To overcome this, the designer used body block cutting techniques. The wood on the left side of the office was cut and moved out as a whole piece, creating a unique and visually appealing design.

The Funny Games office also pays attention to safety and aesthetics. The lattice grating used in the design has sufficient thickness to ensure safety. When the attic light is on, the light is mapped on the walls through the thick grid, revealing a modern and warm space temperament. Additionally, the attic area of the tea house does not extend to the glass, allowing for unobstructed landscape views. Through the wood lattice, visitors can vaguely see the conference room on the second floor, creating a sense of intrigue and discovery.

The Funny Games office design is a testament to the designer's creativity and attention to detail. By combining elements of traditional architecture with playful and innovative design choices, Kaixin Lin has created a workspace that is not only functional but also inspiring and enjoyable.
